Inspection of Tire
Remove nail or other puncturing object from tire. Apply water (if available) to damaged area to determine of air loss is from one or more than one puncture.
Repairing the Tube
Dismount the tire to make tube accessible.
Locate the puncture. If water is available, you can identify the leaking area by observing the air bubbles. Remove all moisture within 6 inches of injury and select proper patch.
With buffer, roughen area and remove all buffing dust.
Apply thin coat of rubber cement and allow to dry until not longer tacky (2-3 minutes).
Remove metal foil from back of patch.
Apply patch by centering over puncture. Smooth down firmly with fingers. Start at center and work toward edge. Care should be used to keep fingers from coming into contact with underside of patch. Tube is now ready for service.
Probing the Tubeless Tire
Probe puncture to determine size and direction of injury, making sure no foreign material is left in the injury. Injures exceeding 1/4' should not be repaired.
Emergency 'On The Wheels' Repairs
Remove plastic covering from plug and center it on eye of needle (insertion tool).
Apply cement to entire plug and tip of insertion tool.
Start insert into injury with a twisting motion. Push gently into hole, following path of injury made by foreign object.
Pull needle to remove from plug and cut off excess insert, leaving about 1/4'. Emergency repair is complete. We recommend you make permanent repair as soon as possible.

This accepted industry standard recommended by the RMA (Rubber Manufactures Association of America) requires that an injured tire be demounted, the interior inspected, the injury drilled out, and a plug and repair unit installed. 'On the wheel' repair plugs are considered temporary (for emergency use only) under ALL circumstances.
