INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE MANIFOLD MODEL 2286, 2287 |

1. Make sure engine is cool. 2. Measure outside diameter of steel transmission tubing to confirm compatibility with the Auto Meter transmission manifold p u r c h a s e d . 3. Determine a convient location for plumbing the manifold in the t u b i n g . 4. Remove the 1/2' NPT mounting nut from the transmission temperature gauge assembly and thread it into the manifold as s h o w n . NOTE: To insure a good seal on pipe threads, use teflon sealing tape (wrap around threads counterclockwise and overlap) or loctite pipe sealant. 5. Remove the sealing nut and ferrule from each tubing connector and thread connectors into the manifold as shown. 6. Measure the manifold from one end of connector to the other. Determine the most convenient mounting location. Using a small tubing cutter, cut out a length of tubing 1/2' shorter than the measurement taken. Slide the sealing nut and ferrule onto each section of tubing as shown. N O T E : To insure the most accurate transmission temperature reading, plumb the manifold assembly into the radiator inlet line, usually the uppermost of the two lines. 7. Install the manifold assembly between the tubing and tighten the sealing nuts onto each connector. Make sure the manifold is mounted in a downward position as shown. 8. Insert the temperature sensing bulb and thread the sealing nut into the manifold as shown. Make sure the nut is tightly secured in the manifold. 9. Start engine and allow it to warm up. Thoroughly inspect the transmission tubing and manifold assembly for any leaks. If a leak occurs tighten the appropriate connections and check again.
